Fine art and commercial photographer Edward Olive has achieved significant success in the Photocrowd «Multicoloured» International Competition, securing four Expert Commended awards and two Expert Merit awards.
Olive’s winning portfolio showcases a masterclass in modern digital techniques, blending double-exposure digital composites with avant-garde lighting methods. Using a digital projector as a primary light source and a graphic tablet to «paint» vibrant movement – reminiscent of painting swirls – Olive has moved beyond traditional capture to create a dynamic, kinetic aesthetic.
«While my previous work explored the stillness of Noir, these pieces are about the architecture of motion,» Olive remarked. His innovative use of graphic tablets to layer movement over portraits allows him to bridge the gap between photography and digital painting, creating a bold, kaleidoscopic narrative.
